Sure, there are lots of cool commercial candle molds out there, but how much cooler would it be to get creative and make a mold yourself from a favourite shape or item? It's easier than you think!
Here's what you're going to need:
100% silicone. This can be found in the caulking aisle of your local hardware store. You will need a caulking gun as well.
Blue Dawn dish soap. It's gotta be Dawn and it's gotta be blue.
A plastic container that will forever be a silicone-mixing container
Water
Rubber gloves
Something to make the mold from (this is where you get to be creative!)
A disposable container slightly larger than the object you are casting
Some extra tips that I didn't mention in the video:
The amount of water is not really important. You just want enough to help spread the dish soap.
Change out your water completely between mixes and get rid of any old silicone so it doesn't get stuck in your next mold.
Really push the silicone into your container firmly to get rid of air bubbles.
